Eyebrow Microblading
1. What is Microblading? Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small tool consisting of several tiny needles is used to add semi permanent pigment to the skin in a series of lines. This technique involves drawing individual crisp hair strokes that are more natural looking than traditional permanent makeup eyebrows.
2. What is the difference between traditional tattooing and Microblading? Tattoo ink is used for eyebrow tattoos while microblading uses a specialized pigment. In contrast, microblading pigments are specifically designed to fade into a lighter version of the color used, so the client retains a natural appearance. Tattoo ink fades over time, but never disappears. Microblading requires 1-2 year touch up sessions because our skin is constantly exfoliating and regenerating new skin cells. Some clients may have longer pigment retention.
3. What are the factors that effect the lasting results of the treatment? Your lifestyle can effect your healing and the longevity of your results. Sun exposure, exfoliation, chemical peels, and facials may play a factor in the fading of your Microbladed Eyebrows. ( Sunlight from driving in the car is also considered exposure.)
4. How long should my Microblading Last? The effects can last up to one to two years with proper care, making it an excellent choice for those who want to enhance their eyebrows without the need for daily makeup application.
5. What is Ombre' or Powder Brows? This is more of a filled-in , solid look whereas microblading creates negative space between the strokes for a more natural look. A machine is generally used creating dots or pixels to fill-in, yet some artists use a hand held tool for this procedure too.
6. Can my Permanent Makeup change color? The pigment used in Microblading will remain true to color ( and dissolves within One to Two years, creating a more pink/ orange tone which is because the pigment has dissolved leaving a canvas for fresh color and yes, you will get new lines that are crisp again. ) Brow Tattoo ink can fade to a blue or green color but never disappears. Here at ICandy we only use Pigments that require touch ups. This gives the most natural look.
7. Who should get their brows Microbladed? It really is great for anyone who is looking for a more defined and nicely shaped brow. If you have patchy, thin, or uneven brows and your looking for a low-maintenance eyebrow routine or just need a professional to create a brow for you. We create an eyebrow according to each individual by measuring and using the golden ratio. There is a science to this. We have you covered by using science and art to customize a perfect eyebrow for your face shape.
8. Trendy Brows? We create a natural shape, no trendy brows recommended. If you wanted to have a glam day, you can always fill them in for a more dramatic look with makeup and you will have an easy shape to follow.
9. How Painful is Microblading? Microblading is a very mild procedure. Its like a cat scratch. Some clients are more sensitive than others. I like to call it "tolerable!" The first pass is uncomfortable but tolerable...the second pass is completely numb since we use an amazing Magic topical anesthetic. After the procedure, your brows might feel like they have a mild sunburn. The feeling should fade within 24 hours. Some clients may not even experience this. The end result is amazing and now you can wakeup to makeup.
10. What age is good for Microblading? You must be 18 or older, not pregnant or nursing.
Hey there! Did you know that people of all ages can benefit from getting their eyebrows filled in? Yes, even if your 90 years old! Say goodbye to the hassle of putting on makeup every day and hello to your dream eyebrows. Sometimes it can be tough to get your brows even, but that's where the professionals come in. Just make sure to do your research and find a good referral before booking an appointment. At ICandy Bella Ink, our artists offer free consultations to educate and comfort our clients. We'll even show you some before after photos and chat with you on the phone to get to know you better. Let us help you boost your confidence with our amazing skills!
10. Pre-Care Matters! No Chemical Peels at least 60 days prior to appointment.
Avoid Botox, at least have a window of space 14 days before or after. ( it can affect your brow position), Avoid ibuprofen, fish oil, or blood thinners since these can cause the thinning of the blood and make the pigment harder to implant, or make you more sensitive to pain.
7 days before: no tanning, a sunburn we cannot work on, do not use retinols or any AHA products, no waxing or plucking hairs. Save the hair for us so we can use while creating the brow.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol since this can affect your sensitivity, so remember to avoid drinking those 24 hours before your appointment and avoid taking aspirin.
11. Aftercare Instructions a must! Aftercare is 7-10 days. These days are most important. Avoid heavy workouts, no facials, botox, laser, peels, sweating, steamy showers, swimming, avoid direct sunlight/tanning for at least 2 weeks, sleep on a clean pillowcase and on your back, avoid the shower directly on your face.
What to do... Day of procedure: Blot brows with a clean tissue every 10-15 minutes over the next hour. Apply a thin layer of ointment with a clean Q-Tip. (no fingers). No washing.
Day Two: Morning after Procedure. Wash with mild soap and water, pat dry, then apply a thin layer of ointment. The object is to keep your brows moist at all times. If they are dry just apply more ointment. You will do this morning and night for 7 days until healed. No picking or scratching your brows. If itchy, just tap, this will help to alleviate the itch. Its important to keep the ointment on because it keeps the germs out, color in, and helps to heal the brows. The ointment keeps them moist and flexible. Always get the proper aftercare from your artist since every artist instructions vary.
